Today was Day 28 of One Month to Live.  After the next 2 days are complete, we will begin Reach Your True Potential – How to Overcome Self-Defeating Behavior, by Sheri O. Zampelli.  This book has also been published under the title From Sabotage to Success.

Through real-life examples, exercises, and action plans, Sheri helps you break down the self-imposed barriers that keep you from reaching your full potential.

Topics covered include:

  • Breaking the old cycles
  • Improving self-esteem
  • Dealing with uncomfortable feelings
  • Learning to take risks
  • Creative daydreaming
  • Visualizing success
  • Setting small, manageable goals
  • Getting others to help you
  • Acknowledging your strengths and successes
  • Rewarding yourself
  • Accepting setbacks as a part of change
  • Learning to be persistent
  • Learning to rest but refusing to quit

Since I am so talented at self-sabotage, I figured this was a great book for me.  And I know there are so many of you out there.  We can all learn together.  Say it with me now:  “I can and I WILL improve my life and my self.  I have an awesome person lurking inside me somewhere.  It’s time to dig out that person and show her/him to the world.  I am going to shine!”

Cheezy much?  Yeah, I know I am.  I’m a nerd.  However, I know that I am capable of greatness, as everyone is.  Or at least I think I can be.  I have to get to the point of believing I am and stop punishing myself and hiding myself.  Don’t you want to do that, too?

To be greater, to achieve much, to love yourself, to like yourself, to believe in yourself — this is who I want to be.

Won’t you join me?  I welcome one and all to join the book study, the exercises and action plans.  I welcome your comments and how you are working on yourself, your personal and professional development, whether talking about this book or not.  How are you changing your life?  How are you making a difference?  We are here to help each other, encourage each other and cheer each other on.  😉
